Get involved

Wheelmap is a participatory project! It depends on as many people as possible rating places or getting involved in other ways.

Map My Hood

Just going for a walk is getting boring? We are proclaiming the whole of May as Mapping Month!

Mapping

Everybody can easily find places, add new places and rate them using a traffic light system – worldwide and free of charge. No registration is necessary. Rate the wheelchair accessibility of your favorite places now!

Report elevators

It’s really annoying when elevators break down. That’s why you can find out on Wheelmap.org whether or not elevators and escalators  are currently out of service. Over 3000 elevators and escalators are already listed, but we want more!

Testimonial

You are convinced of the solution Wheelmap and you would like to help spread the word about it? Become a testimonial for our social media channels.

Promote the widget

Use the Wheelmap Widget for your own website or convince municipalities, organisations and others to integrate the Wheelmap directly into their websites.

Promote mobile ramps

Advertise for mobile ramps in your city – because with a ramp 1-2 steps can be overcome quite simply.

Translators wanted!

You speak a foreign language fluently or even at native level? Help us translate Wheelmap into even more languages!

Organize a mapping event

Organize a Wheelmap mapping event and rate public places along with others.

Help evaluate the accessibility in your region!

Become a Wheelmap ambassador

Become part of an international community and advocate for wheelchair accesibility. In this program you will learn all about Wheelmap and (digital) activism.

Create publicity

Inform the public and the local press! This way, your activities (e.g. mapping events) attract attention and the Wheelmap becomes better known.

Support Coding and IT Development

You can help by putting your IT and coding skills to work. The Wheelmap code is open source and available on the developer platform Github.
