Traveling as one chooses, with or without a disability

September 27 is World Tourism Day! From then until December 3, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the campaign “TravelAble” will focus on the need for making travel more accessible for everyone.

TravelAble Campaign 2019

Everyone can join in!

The campaign addresses people in all parts of the world who want to rate of the accessibility of places in their neighbourhood. In addition, hotels and other service providers in the tourism industry can contribute to the campaign and enter their own information. Cities and municipalities can call on locals to rate nearby tourist attractions. Organisations and companies can help to spread the campaign and organise their own team-building events.

TravelAble starts September 27, World Tourism Day!

In order to raise public awareness for the importance of accessible travel, we are launching TravelAble, a series of events that start on September 27. The aim is to collect information on the accessibility of places for travellers with disabilities – so that they can plan their trip and activities at their destination. People with disabilities need much more specific information before and during their holidays than people without disabilities.
